A Calming Foot Soak Ritual to Help You Unwind in Your Busy Week

A Calming Foot Soak Ritual to Help You Unwind in Your Busy Week

Even though my business has beautiful essential oils, I’d somehow forgotten about this simple act of self-care.

You know those nights when your body is exhausted, but your mind is still buzzing — replaying the day, running through tomorrow’s to-do list, and scrolling endlessly just to switch off?

That was me too. Then one night, feeling drained and a little frayed, I remembered something I used to do a long time ago to find more calm.

A foot soak.

Simple. Old-fashioned. And deeply calming. And it only takes 10 minutes.

Why One Night a Week Makes a Difference

There’s something powerful about pausing, just once a week, to give back to yourself.

A warm foot soak with essential oils isn’t just a treat -  it’s a science-backed way to restore both body and mind.

A Foot Soak with Essential Oils Can:

v  Relieve stress

v  Promote circulation

v  Improve pain

v  Increase relaxation

v  Promote sleep

Warm water relaxes your muscles.

The essential oils absorb through the skin – soothing your nervous system.

The ritual itself becomes a gentle signal: you can let go now.

It feels luxurious and it’s also about intentional calm.

My Go-To Foot Soak Ritual

Here’s the relaxing essential oil blend that I love. Try it on a Sunday night to ease into the week ahead — or a mid-week evening when your soul needs a breather.

For the Geranium and Lavender Calming Foot Soak you’ll need:

A bowl or foot bath

Warm water (not too hot — just soothing)

1 tablespoon of Epsom salts or Dead Sea Salt

1 teaspoon carrier oil (sweet almond, jojoba, or fractionated coconut oil)

2 drops Lavender – calms the mind and supports restful sleep

2 drops Geranium – balances emotions and soothes stress

1 drop Lemon – refreshes the senses and gently detoxes

1 drop Ylang Ylang – uplifts while relaxing the body

In a small bowl, mix the essential oils into the carrier oil.

Add the Dead sea salt or epsom salt and stir until the mixture is combined.

Swirl into the water.

Lower your feet in. Close your eyes. Breathe deeply. And just be.

Five to ten minutes. No phone. No multitasking. Just peace and stillness.

Bonus Blend: For Tired, Achy Feet

Some weeks, it’s not just stress - your feet are done. Here is a go-to remedy after a long day on your feet or a busy week.

Tired Feet Rescue Soak :

1 tablespoon Epsom salts or Dead Sea Salt

1 teaspoon carrier oil (sweet almond, jojoba, or fractionated coconut oil)

2 drops Peppermint – cools, refreshes, and reduces inflammation

2 drops Tea Tree – soothes cracked heels, reduces inflammation, and is anti-bacterial

Follow the same method: mix, swirl, soak, and breathe.

This one leaves your feet tingling (in the best way) and your whole body feeling revived.

Your Invitation to Slow Down

If your evenings have felt rushed, restless or a little disconnected lately, I’d love you to try this ritual.

One night this week - give yourself ten minutes of quiet care.

You could also light a candle, put some soft music on, read your book – make it yours!
